Found Grandpa's Black Beauty. Last viewed: 3 hours ago

I'm new to posting questions and normally just read the threads but I wanted to get some info on a snare drum that I got while on vacation. It is a 6 lug Ludwig (Black Beauty ?) that is missing 4 of the lugs. I have a couple of 60's Ludwig snares but nothing like this. Please share any information concerning the drum or where I might be able to locate the missing parts.

I'm thinkin'...if you've got the money, it would be wise to have this one restored professionally. These are worth big bucks.

From what I've seen on this forum, that's the snare everyone wants. Restore it professionally.

You need Mike Curotto. He is THE go to man for this. Dont clean it. Dont wipe it down, dont do anything until you get advice from him. Theres probably no one better.

Thanks for all the replies. This drum is a six lug and has been in the family since the twenties. I plan to restore it somewhere down the road and pass it along to my kids. I recently acquired all my grandfather's gear and I'm still trying to figure out what is what. I'll post some more pictures.
