Frustrated Dynasonic Owner Last viewed: 29 minutes ago

Loading...

It's a good thing someone in VFD reproduced the Dynasonic tags with operating instructions. There is at least one reason you might not have thought of, as illustrated here with this eBay offering. Too sad, but we can be fairly confident one owner of this Dynasonic got frustrated somewhere along the way.

That's a bit radical... presume someone was using it minus the frame... sure devalued a nice drum...

From green glass drum

No, these are not factory snare beds! Those of us that know the Dynasonic, know that there are basically no perceptible snare beds! Someone really got carried away with their idea of a "snare bed" on this rare 6.5" Dynasonic! While I can understand the frustration of the previous owner not knowing how/understanding how to tune a Dynasonic, I just find cutting this style of bed to not offer any "sound" benefit. Still, I just don't understand ruining a rare drum like this!

I just threw up a bit...

Looks to be in excellent shape too. Really sad.

Pardon me while I throw up a bit more.

Maybe it can be converted to a 5-1/2 and be saved?

DOH I've always held the motto - you don't like the way the drum sounds, please get another one! I've seen too many snares & toms that have just been mindlessly altered because they don't know how to tune drums or mount them. Sad day for snare drums everywhere.

Complete and total sacrilege on a Dynasonic! Absolutely NO REASON to have done this... outside of the fact that the owner responsible did NOT understand how this model sets up and functions. SIGH.

I wonder when the operation was carried out on this Drum. Probably in the early 70's when the drum would of been just a second hand drum, not as a vintage holy grail trophy drum worth 2-3K in anyones money.

I wonder if the original guy who did this still had the drum in recent times, and how he felt when he got wind of its pre-hack value? I think the word gutted springs to mind.
