My father-in-law, Bob Mckee, was the Mike Douglas Show drummer in the 1960s. During this period, he had the opportunity to play behind many stars of that day, such as Sammy Davis Jr., Barbara Striestand, Louis Amrstrongs, just to name a few. He also played drums for big bands Ray Anthony and Buddy Morrow in the 1950s. He lives and works in Cleveland and in the 1960s his band was the house band at a downtown nightclub called The Theatrical, where anybody whose anybody would frequent at night. Once, when Gene Krupa was in town for the Mike Douglas Show he popped in at night and sat in and played Bob's drums and wound up breaking one of his cymbals. Bob, didn't care, but the next day Gene felt bad and came by the club and presented Bob and personalized stamped G.K. Zildjian cymbal. Well that the story and I've included some pictures and Bob, whose getting older was wondering if it had any significant value and if so is interested in selling it. So, I mention that I would ask the forum for their expert opinion. Any input would be appreciated!
