if the Gretsch came from the factory for double toms...the BD plates were interchangeable....

Ah Ha! That's a Ludwig bass drum mount as well! I didn't pick up on that. There are no extra holes, but obviously, it was not installed at the factory!

I went under the premise that this was a Rock n Roll kit. Now I realize that it probably started as a Jazz kit. This just creates more questions. I am going to post a new thread trying to get this kit figured out. Thank you very much for your help! You guys are GREAT!

If not too much work...

Take the Lud plate off the BD...and lets see what kind of work was done to install it....good or bad?....I have seen some real hack jobs...electricit

just like everyone else.....
