I have an old man who bought these in the 60s.
he said "make an offer" what should i offer?
I'd 'offer' $250. but I'd go as high as $550. to get the shells and hardware. It looks like a straight-up re-wrap. You also have to consider that you'll need to shop for a period correct floor tom to complete the kit. It'll always be a player, but, oh my, what a player it will be!

He said he wants 300 for them.
I'm guessing that's not bad?
I would give $300 for them, like John said, it will be a project but it will be awesome when done!
I would do it for 300, but keep in mind that the floor Tom will cost you way more than that to complete the set.
The badges are probably worth $300 alone...and at least that in shells let alone the hardware.
It's a very good deal for $300 even if you have to pay more than that for a f/t. If you find nice wood under the wrap it would be nice to paint them if you choose to go that route. Fun project and some nice drums.
It looks like the earlier (and harder to find = more expensive) diamond plate cymbal holder. The later ones did not have the boltheads showing on the outside. I have them on my late 50's kit.
If that snare is in any kind of shape at all it is worth more than $300. Do it!

does anyone know if gretsch sells that wrap anymore? the only place i've ever bought wrap from is Precision drums
If the drums look like that, then what do the bearing edges look like? Unluss you're a total Gretsch hound, $150 or pass. Looks like too much work.
