Aussievintagedrumuser no need to apologize and no offense taken. Americans don't mind taking a shot over the bow from time to time and most of us respect your willingness to say what's on your mind without pulling punches. It's that gutsy no fear attitude that would make you fit right in over here. That's our primary strength, is the people from all over the world and every country under the sun. That's what makes us a great nation and we no doubt welcome you with open arms.

Just to set things straight, my original post was soley based on an experiece I had not to generalize all GC follow suit. maybe a few can see my warped sense of humor also. Kleening

side note, I went to the drum pad which is a high end drum shop near me, and had some questions about my 20" floor tom to bass project, he told me it cannot be done period. so even shops like this that cator only to drummers, have uneducated people working there also.

Oh Man, No Doubt! and highly opinionated as well sometimes, like they are the only one with a clue. I think they forget a lot of us were paying the bills as working musicians a long time before they were even born...lol...

Last year I visited GC in LA a couple of times, probably spent a couple of hours in total browsing the gear and having a chat. The junior staff appeared to have varied levels of product knowledge and were attentive and courteous. No different to any Music chain anywhere else on the planet. My son also had an Acro shipped from a GC in Texas for our collection at GC LA. All went smoothly.. as an Ozzie the prices there are the big difference.. So much cheaper for you guys..

Can't wait to get back and spend a few more bucks..

Cheers

Ta mates!, yeah i'll stay at home i couldn't live in a country with it's gun culture&politics &selfish way of thinking &greed&me me me etc attitude towards the rest of the world&it's ignorance&prejudice &treatment of African -Americans,native American indians, racisim.SOME NOT ALL of you Americans, i ONLY like America for it's cars, music, drums&women (BLACK of course ! ),actors, comedians.IDONT mean to offend anyone on here with my comments! :),also i wouldn;t feel safe what with your gun laws&crime rate! :(.Also my comments/thoughts on 9/11 might hurt/insult&offend some people &i'm NOT on here to do that!, i'm here STRICTLY to gain advice/help&tips&to buy&sell!.

I think if our "Aussie translator" was actually working,we would have known that you were "just taking a p1ss",in your post concerning moving to the States to work at GC.

It's amazing how ineffective written langauge and the internet can be as far as clarity of commication.

Prehaps agreeing to clarification by both parties, before posting ,will clear up future misconseptions.

Altough we do speak the Kings, there is more than a small amount of langauge and slang, which dosen't translate all that well without some kind of qualifier or cultural equivelent. And that goes for the US,from state to state, and region to region.

I've been guilty of going off half cocked myself on occasion, mea culpa.

Fingers off the trigger guys, till your on target...that goes for me too.(Sorry about the gun metaphore, but there's plenty of gun based slang in all of out langauges, such as lock, stock and barrel and going off half cocked as just few examples.)

This is a great and informative forum, and it's up to ourselves to keep it that way.

Feel free to disargee.it is a forum after all.

No Tamadrum,

I was fair dinkum about moving to the USA &working for GC!.I actually applied for a bearing salesperson job at Coppel Texas NEVER heard from them even though the position is STILL advertised on there website.IF I EVER DID choose/decide to relocate to the USA it'd be somewhere in the south as i genuinely honestly&sincerly believe THAT'S where i'd fit in best with my opinion&views on life&politics! :).

Mate,I don't intend to sound insulting, but, that's actually the opposite of how people here feel.

For example, the southern states tend to be very pro gun,as opposed to the Big cities,Like New York and Chicago.
