Great Video! My friend has fixed my 1970's Slingerland bass drum spur brackets and floor tom leg holders using a Heil Coil kit. I didn't know it was this easy.

Thanks! Yes, HeliCoils are available for virtually every diameter and thread. Something interesting to point out is that the whole point of a HeliCoil is to repair threads to their original size; alternatively, I could have just drilled and tapped the hole to a larger size and equally be back in business, but then I couldn't have used the original wing screw. Plus in this case, the HeliCoil threads are stronger than the original threads.

Between the drill bit and HeliCoil kit, I spent about $25 US; most of the cost is for the special tap and install tool. But the kit comes with probably 10 or more HeliCoils, so the next time I need to redo a 1/4"-20 Thread, it won't cost me anything. So it could get expensive if you end up having to invest in multiple sizes of HeliCoil kits over time.
