Ok Guys, I bought the drums for 2 bills like he wanted. Looks like the bass is 14x22 3 ply and was gold sparkle. (i cut a bit of the white wrap off and found evidence of torn gold wrap) It also has a (felt strip muffler?) attached to an adjustable piece on one end and is mounted solid on the other. Interior is silver and bearing edges still have drops of silver and are unmolested.

The 9x13 rack tom is 3 ply and has both tone controls intact and is also silver inside with non magnetic rims. It too has evidence of gold wrap.

Floor tom is odd. The lugs are similar to the others but looking close, aren't the same. Has no tone control or holes for one and interior is bare wood as well as the exterior seems to be. Also look to be 5 or 6 ply.

I took a bunch of pics but can't get the sob's to transfer to my computer. I'll get it to work eventually and hopefully sooner than later.

Thanks again for all the help!

Man I think you got a monster deal. The muffler strip inside the bass drum is the aforementioned Pratt muffler and was unique to Gretsch drums. A kick snare single rack tom with no floor tom was fairly common. I'll be interested to see what the floor tom turns out to be. Congratulations, you ended up with a killer score. Clean up the MIJ's a d the right buyer will pay you close to the $200 you have in the whole thing. A free round badge kit? Priceless!

Oh Mick, you lucky, lucky dog! It's a late 50's 3-ply "Brooklyn" shell!!! The muffler is a Pratt and standard on Gretsch drums of the period. Badge?

That would be the one that goes with the bass drum! You've already quadrupled your money with just these two! 3-ply shells, dude, you have no idea how great you scored.

Mick, that one 'could be' an MIJ copy of a Gretsch drum. Put up the photos when you can and we'll be able to make a good guess for you.

Again... you lucky, lucky dog! Congrats.

Don't know what this floor tom is.

The floor tom is vertical grain Luan - MIJ. The other two drums are legit round badge Gretsch drums! Even if you re-wrap them, you'd come out ahead in a resale.

It would be interesting to know how the silver sparkle bits occurred. Looks like a re-wrap is in order but those will be great drums and worth much more than you paid for them.
