I came across this set on the internet. The owner does not know anything about them except they are a Jazz Master set. There are no badges but they were told they were from the 50's.
Help identifying these drums Last viewed: 39 minutes ago
Interesting... the hoops and lugs look like Slingerland but the tom mount on the bass drum and hardware look like Ludwig.
Ludwig and Leedy were owned by Conn. Slingerland bought Leedy.
Could it be a Leedy under the Slingerland ownership?
This is some MIJ set w/ Slingerland copy hoops & lugs. Nothing looks like Ludwig, or Leedy/Slingerland. The unfocused photos don't help much, & not enough details are there to make a good ID. The fragment of a strainer isn't easy to ID either. We would need a clear photo of the strainer system & internal look at the shells to find a maker. The hoops look like the Slingerland copies w/ a flatened top rim ?

I'm in line with TDennis...my feeling is that it is a Slingerland MIJ kit. As mentioned, some in-focus pics and pics of the interior of the shells would help to confirm this.
I asked the seller to send me some clearer pictures and some of the inside of the drums.
Ah.. thanks for the education. Even if it is a MIJ kit... it's still a very neat set.
This is a nice looking group of drums, but that price is way too much for an incomplete kit (no floortom ?, no badges). I've seen too many complete, attractive, MIJ kits go for $150-$200+-. to ever cough up $500. The seller is either naive, or this could be the beginning of MIJ collection inflation fever.

From talking with the seller they did not know what kind of set it was but went to their local gutiar center. They were told that the set is from the 50's but they did not know what kind it was either just it was a jazz master set.
Here's a picture of the strainer and the inside of the tom and bass drum.
