Help me identify some old nickel throw-off parts Last viewed: 10 hours ago

I made an impulse purchase of a lot of vintage nickel butt plates and thro parts, and not that they showed up in the mail there are several pieces that I'm not familiar with. Anyone know the brand/model/era of any of this stuff?

I just realized the middle piece in the last pic is a drum key clip. I'll have to mount it on a drum I don't care too much about, those are handy...

Although I can't tell you the brand, what you have there is a collection of very old (vintage) butt plates and strainer parts for gut snares, only the long tension rod that threads through them is missing. You have the butt plates and the base part of the strainer side where the gut snares attach to the strainer, no rod. Look through the parts for a long, thin threaded rod with a gnurled knob on the end.

The partial strainer in photo 4 is a four-point strainer, but I can't tell you if it's Gretsch for sure.

In the second photo, you have parts of a Gretsch Economy strainer. The nearly complete strainer looks like an old Sta-Tite (Is that what they called them?) or a Japanese knockoff.

Cooper's photo shows the rod (which is missing in your parts photo,) that I was talking about!

Oops....That's not a Sta-Tite. I'm pretty sure that strainer is a Rogers Universal that has been altered. Or, it may be a Japanese copy, as I've seen them on some stencil brands.

The throw missing the tension knob with a threaded post is a Rogers 1950-53 common stock used then:
