Doubt it's factory. I have a restored Hollywood Ace that at one stage had the snare position swapped to the top head. True. Lots of crazy peeps out there.

No, it is definitely not factory. I do own one of these drums. The original throw off location is visible in the pics. There just is not a good, or even stupid, reason for this to have been done.
