For re-gluing seams, I've had good luck using Beacon's MULTI-GRIP Glue. Got it at Ace hardware. Tape of the seam, drip and spread the glue into the seam separation, clamp it down with a piece of wood the length of the shell. Let it set for 24 hours before taking off the clamps. It's worked well for me on a chromed metal over wood seam on a Slingerland bass drum and a silver sparkle wrap seam on a late 60"s Ludwig bass drum.
high bond double sided tape or 3M 30nf Last viewed: 1 minute ago
its a 3/4" Gretsch round badge inlay and I am using 1/2" tape it makes sense to me to put the tape on the inlay then just place it
the only thing i would be concerned about is the 1/4" of combined space that has no tape. i just wonder if it would cause problems with lifting or curling. then again, you could do two overlapping strips of tape to fill in the entire 3/4" groove.
i just did 3/4" gretsch inlays using the method i described previously and it worked like a charm. but i was starting with 3" tape so i just laid everything down side by side on a long strip of tape and went to town.

yeah I probably should have bought the 3"
but I will make due putting 2 pieces side by side and trimming the excess
more work ....but I love doing stuff like this
:)
Used the stuff from Drum Foundry and some from Drummaker with great success. Not sure what Jammin Sam sends with his stuff, but had success with that as well.
The 3M contact stuff is great as well.
For seam repair I use Super Glue GEL, applying a thin bead the length of the repair and then clamping a board over the length of the seam for 24 hours. Also apply a strip of blue painter's tape right at the edge of the seam for squeeze out. You can run a razor blade along the overlap of the wrap to cut the excess glue and then pull up the tape...
