Holy grail of snares? Last viewed: 0 seconds ago

From Drummer808

Hi, Mike!Yes, my friend does live in the SF Bay Area. He said someone walked into the SF Guitar Center trying to sell the drum and his friends at the store (knowing that he was interested in vintage drums) called him right away. He immediately jumped in his car and bought it from the guy selling it.

Yep, I know the owner, the story and I have had that drum in my hands...that is one of the four.

Blair lowballed me!! Seriously, Mike is right, I sold my Slingerland Black Beauty for more than the price Blair quoted.I consider the original Ludwig Triumphal the "holy grail" of snare drums. It's much rarer than the Slingy BB.

That is a great argument as there are only 8 known L&L Gold Triumphals at this time. Although I'd sure love to see a 4x14 Slingerland BB, it is listed in the catalog but I have never seen or heard of one.

A good friend of mine (Jim Messina of Vintage Drum Talk) is compiling a list of all of the owners of 5x14 Slingerland BBs. Do you know him and does he know of your drum?Mike Curotto

Fair enough, I'll just use your id from here, thanks. It's just a compilation and will not get into a broad public thing.

I've had a few of my drums "show up" on Ebay and my friends and the drumming community from the various forums literally tore the idiots a new A** H*** via nasty emails and complaints to Ebay.
