A big +1 on that!I have a pre-serial, red felted baseball bat, crimped snare bed, 400. And it's LUDALLOY.weight is the best way to tell.
But wouldn't the Ludalloy have steel rims, not COB rims, correct? So is it safe to say that if the rims are COB, then so is the shell? I know a bit about Dynasonics but nothing about 400's. You Ludwig guys are sure helping cdennis a lot. Kudos.

No at this time frame they would cob. All my early acros had cob hoops.
Wow that's quite a kit, The hoops and tension rods all look to be original and if it's a pre-serial 1960-63 model they would no doubt be COB. Even the snare wires have the factory stock tie on one side. The bass drum beater is also factory Ludwig. I would guess that snare drum is going to be a chrome over brass model Super 400 because everything else appears to be 100% original.
