Just for the record...
"Museum" pieces aren't necessarily what I'm referring to. I just don't buy kits that have what I call invasive or irreversible alterations such as extra holes, rewraps, re-edged, etc. I'm absolutely not interested in anything like that in my collection because, while I do like to collect, I also find that space is precious and I'll only make room for really nice unaltered examples.
There is a W-I-D-E gap between "museum" quality and simply unaltered drum kits. I've actually only seen a handful of real museum quality kits, anyway. They've always been rare. What I'm referring to isn't necessarily "perfection", but rather "unaltered"
