I Got My Rogers!!! Last viewed: 2 hours ago

I realize that I'm currently selling a kit and that I'm buying a new house this month...but...it's a Rogers...in RED ONYX!

I think I might have a drum problem.

I picked up a Rogers kit, Red ONYX!!!, 20, 12, 13, 16, in pretty good shape. It will make the move and wait patiently in my newly built drum workshop until Christmas break. I will begin restoration then...if I can wait that long. It looks to be a 1967 beavertail kit. Silver paint, Dayton tags, Holiday shells, blah blah blah.

This is the color that I've waited for. I will locate another bass (22 inch) so that I can have the best of both worlds...I'll then get my 22/16/13 kit. Whoo-Hooooo!!!

My music store contact treated me with mucho love and respect and let me walk out the door with it for a song. He's the greatest.

I'll post some before pics and maybe a shot of the tags.

I'm oh so happy.

If insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results, is it insane to practice?

You cant have a drum problem till your first drum divorce. Ya know....... when they run off with the bass player.

I played this evening with my Gold Sparkle kit. We were rehearsing for a Tuesday night show. As hard as it is to admit...I think my groove did run off a bit with the bass. I chalked it up to the coffee, but now you've given me reason to pause. Hmm. Maybe I really do have a drum problem. Dang. I bet this won't happen with the Rogers! It'll be like playing drums with a cape. There's no groove like a super groove.

I'm really beginning to scare myself.

Cleaned the 12 inch tom just to see what's up with 'em. I found zero fade. None. The gray paint on the inside seems to be almost perfect. The washers were sticking...as if they've never been removed. Seam is 100% tight tight tight. All good signs.
