Ok. So, I'm walking again. I didn't realize when this kit was purchased that I'd be monopedal for so long. Dang. That was a tough surgery. Was in a wheelchair for several weeks and then on those funky twin arm crutch thingys for several weeks. I'm now walking with a cane and am actually wearing regular shoes and socks again. Totally cool.

I get to play again. I will say that if it weren't for my wife, I would have played a gig in my wheelchair. I REALLY wanted to play my drums. She stopped me (wisely) and calmed me down.

Good News! I am sending my 13 and 16 off to Precision this Friday for a bit of "tightening up". They will make them as perfect as they can.

With that said, I need a 12, 13, and 16 inch hoop with tension screws for each. I also need 8 t's and claws. That's all I'm missing for the shells. I've managed to get everything else...I think. I'll know for sure once I get back into the drum room and take it all apart to clean 'em. I'll eventually be searching out a snare stand and two cymbal stands (all swan leg).

Man, I've really missed getting my hands into these drums.

Well.......it's the 25th.........Merry Christmas..........

Precision called the other day and said that they were going to take a vacation PRIOR to working on my drums. I'm sitting here gazing at my tree sans drums. I am humbled by the love that my FATHER has blessed me with and do not miss the drums next to the tree. My son is home and is sleeping in my drum room. That's a bit uncomfortable but I'll get over it.

I got a bead on 67 woody Powertone (matching finish!) AND another 67 cob Powertone. I'm still negotiating and will update on the status when there is something to report.

The hardware is coming together on this kit. Still need some swan leg stuff - snare stand, two cymbal stands...and a swivo pedal and hihat clutch. Someone step up to the plate and trade me for these! Please! This one is insane. I've not even tapped on the drums yet. I'm anxious, but very patient (if that's possible).

Zowie!! Nice finish.

Rogers knew how to build drums. Everything over-engineered and solid! Know wonder your kit is almost like the day it was born. Good luck on finding the stands, bass, snare and parts you need to make it all really really nice...

Greetings. I am a newbie. You seem pretty knowledgable and I am new to vintage drums. I just found out I have a vintage kit and didn't even know it. I have a Rogers Tower model Cleveland era 12"/14"/20", red sparkle My sister purchased them for me in 1967 because my Father didn't want me to play drums; too loud. My snare is Holiday model probably around 1964, also red sparkle. Everything is original with Cleveland tags on all. Very clean and well kept with one problem: the Bass was modified in 1974 to accomodate a double tom mount. Have I completely ruined the value of the kit? Help2

Yes. And you will continue to kick yourself until you are well rid of them. Might I suggest you allow me to work an intervention and remove said obstacle from your inner growth? I am here to help.

[QUOTE=section2;39347]Gorgeous!

I just got rid of some swan leg stuff on e bay. I hope you were the winner. For anyone interested I still have two Rogers drums that I would like to sell or trade. My preference for trade would be Gretsch. the two drums are a 9x13 red onyx very nice Fullerton also a cob Dynosonic snare.If any one has any interest let me know

I do! I do! Oh! Pick me, pick me! I'm interested in that 13 inch tom in red onyx. What (other than Gretsch) would you be interested in? I have cymbals (posted in the for sale section), an occasional drum, a cat, and some slightly used monkey bread. Call it!
