I have pulled off the batter heads on the toms. They have large 2" wide maple re-rings, double gray mufflers with chrome knobs that have rounded ends and wide rounded bearing edges which are in great shape for 60 plus year old drums.

The bass drum has a shaper bearing edge, small maple re-ring that are not rounded on the inside edge like the toms. The Rogers Swivomatic mounts, two for spurs and one for the tom arm seem to have another hole that would be original to the drum. Probably the original spur brackets? The cymbal arm brackets have the same type of fasteners as the t-rods, however they have been mounted in place of something else, likely the original brackets were shorter as there is another hole between the two mounting bolts. The badge looks to be original but may not be? I have some pictures but can't seem to find the right size to work on this site???

I think that is your badge. The time frame accounts for the lugs, (end of the run for the old style beaver tail lugs), the hoops, (beginning of the run for the double flanged hoops), the badge, the 20" bass drum listed ('49 catalogue, closest year I could find, link doesn't work so here is the same page from '51), here; http://www.vintagedrumguide.com/images/slingerland_drum_sets/1951-slingerland-drumsets3.jpg

Same page lists an 8 x 12 single headed tom, so we know that size tom shell was available. Didn't see a 14 x 14 listed anywhere but who knows.

I'm gonna call it a '46-'48.

That cocktail bass is 18x20

There are 14x20 bass drums offered in 1950.

I don't have a cat scan from '49 or '48 to tie into the badge timeline exactly.

If '50 is the earliest for a 14x20, maybe the drum was fitted with a leftover badge from '48.

If someone has a full cat scan from '48, perhaps they can see if a 14x20 is offered?

Either way, a great outfit, and one for the books!

Bass drum pictures. The last one is of the Swivomatic spur bracket mounting nuts/washers and it show an extra hole, likely the original from the Slingerland spur? The second picture is grommet on the back of the badge.
