There's a guy who does incredibly good Zeppelin drum covers on youtube: MrMojoRisin1967

Not only is the playing spot-on, but the drum kits are gorgeous. He plays Thermogloss, Green Sparkle Classics, Amber Vistalites, Stainless Steel- all with 26-inch bass drums.

Here's a link:

I tried posting this in the 'video' section, but was unable.

I've seen him, he has some great kits and even has a video on how to tune like Bonham. The problem is that he's a copy cat, kinda like a painter who can't paint the Mona Lisa like the original. What made Bonham great was that he had his own sound.

Why would you want to watch this guy anyway? There are plenty of videos with the real deal.

Thanks for sharing... I know I will never achieve close to that kind of limb independence.

Yes, a very good copy cat considering he's playing to the original music. That's kind of the point.

I think Bonham would be proud of this guy.

Don't get me wrong, he's a good drummer, I just never understood why someone would want to spend so much time trying to sound like someone else.

Because he appreciates the complexity of the music... because he admires the drummer who originally played it... because he loves the band... because he can! Imitation is the greatest form of flattery. I would say it is out of pure respect for an Icon! Bowing

Well, thank goodness most drummers and or musicians don't have that mentality, or the world would be deprived of great artist who create their own sound.

Yeah we wouldn't want to show admiration for someones talent by doing something stupid like playing their music or naming ourselves after them would we Johnny "Ringo". Toilet

You guys just don't get it. What he's doing is good, he plays well, but I would much rather see him play something that he's created and not copy someone else, even if that playing is not as technical as what he is imitating. Although I do like seeing and hearing those beautiful Ludwig drums.

I see your point Ringo, but his goal was to sound like Bonham and he achieved that.

We've all been influenced by Bonzo even if we don't realize it. I know I have.

Either way, there aren't many videos showing just Bonzo's playing exclusively and there won't be any more.

It's just a fun video for folks who admire Bonzo I guess. And that ain't an easy song to play either.
