Going slightly off topic and probably going to get royally ostracized here but having recently read Mick Wall's Led Zep biography "When Giants Walked the Earth" I was left feeling slightly depressed about Bonham and his somewhat violent temperament, particularly when he'd been drinking. I know it's not really "news" and he's not the first rock drummer to have Jekyll & Hyde personality (also recently read Keith Moon's bio) but the portrayal was of a guy with quite a cruel streak.
1920s 14"x5" Ludwig Super Sensitive Dual Snare
1957 6 1/2" x15" Slingerland WMP Concert King
1938 8"x15" Leedy Broadway Standard
1947-53 14x6.5" NOB Ludwig & Ludwig Universal
...plus a bunch of mismatched Slingerlands that collectively make a pleasing noise.
Ya Gerard, I've heard some of that, but nothing specific. I need to read that book if it's reported to be factual.
The worst I've heard involved a red snapper, but what can ya believe? I doubt many bands were saints in the 70s. Wish I was there though!
I see your point Ringo, but his goal was to sound like Bonham and he achieved that. We've all been influenced by Bonzo even if we don't realize it. I know I have. Either way, there aren't many videos showing just Bonzo's playing exclusively and there won't be any more. It's just a fun video for folks who admire Bonzo I guess. And that ain't an easy song to play either.
You're right, it is fun to watch, you should check out his Bonham drum tuning video, he totally starts from scratch and goes through the whole process.
Here ya go....

You're not alone in that feeling. It's just a drag, for us now, and for everyone involved back then. I had a lot of other stuff I was going to write but I'll leave it at that.

He also does fantastic covers of the Doors too.
I have subscribed to his channel and he has made comments on my videos as well.

I felt the same way! A case of 'Bill Cosby' syndrome! 'Big Hero' - until you look under the surface.
On top of which... as much as I've always loved Led Zep, I always thought Bonzo was a pretty one-dimensional drummer. He did one kind of drumming great... but that 'all-out bashing' was all you ever got.
There! Now -that's- some serious sacrilege! I'm going to put on my asbestos suit, I see the flame throwers a-comin' ! LOL
Just my honest opinion and why I have -never- posted in any of the two million Bonham threads that have been started here at VDF. I'm in good company though... Buddy Rich didn't think much of him either!
