Ludwig did make SS drums... just not snares until recently. All of the above is correct.Pleased to meet you!

I take it you're talking about the new Supralites

Yep, that is what I meant, although I wasn't sure of the name. BTW: Are those Asian or American drums? I assumed these were made in the US, but nowadays, who knows.

My Rototoms would survive that attack Fish. The heads wont. They way I set mine up allowed me to hit five different toms with one stick...in less than a second !i

Pretty slick... although I'd set 'em up a bit dif. I think I'd position them so I could get at them in one fell swoop with a chain saw.

But then, that's just me.

Some folks like to extend their pleasure with Rototoms. Me, nope. Just get it over with.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

They ARE Asian made but still would like to try one out. You can get a new 8X14 for $199. Tube lug's look cool but I still perfer my CHIcago Lud's over the CHIna ones any ole day.

I should have known due to the weird badge... I have heard one. The 5.5 X 14 I think. It was kinda tasty! I'm with you though, for metal snares I'll take one of my plethora of 404's and 400's or my 417.

Although, for steel shells I must admit I was and still am impressed by an old Rogers Super Ten I have.

Ha ha. What's with the hatred of rototoms? I think they sound great when playing slower, atmospheric tunes as they are used in Pink Floyd for example.
