Sometimes its right place at the right time. That's how I've gotten many of my deals & freebies. That's a great find though, would love to see that driving down the road. For us it's crazy to think someone would just discard a drum in such a manner. But if you had no idea what it was and just happened upon it or had it sitting and wanted it gone, then I can understand. The guy I got my 60's Ludwig Classics & Tempro kit from was a day away from dropping the drums off at a dump...yes DUMP! all because he was moving to California and didn't want to deal with them. Thank goodness my friend knew him and told me to call him, came over that day and just dropped them off. Didn't even want gas money for the drive. Always baffled me how you could just throw something away, but sadly it's a product of our modern disposable society.

I understand that..This is only due to a significant drummer who comes from Liverpool.. If it were Blue he chose to play, you can bet the value tables would be turned ;)

Very true!

Pete Best bought an Oyster Blue Ludwig set BEFORE Ringo got his Oyster Blacks. Of course this was after Pete had been sacked by the band, but if he'd not been replaced and made the same choice things WOULD be different, then again if he had stayed maybe the Beatles wouldn't have been so big and no one would be looking for oyster blue "Pete Snares".

As someone who actually has ponied up $2k for a Ringo snare a couple of years ago, after a couple of decades of hunting for one I could better afford, finding one set out out on the curb with the trash would have been an almost religious experience.

Well, everything is something. I mean, nothing is nothing, right? But then, everything might be an illusion, and something could be anything? We've all seen something that we thought was nothing, but it turned out it was really something! What I'm saying is, pics would be immensely helpful.
