Plus you would need some sort of muffling around the perimeter of the shell or reso head as seen in countless photos. (See, I just couldn't resist stirring that back up.)

In the back of my mind, I wasn't even thinking about "that ring". ;)

Dan-what a great and wonderful band the"Rascals" were,always one of my favs and what an amazing drummer he was,(can`t remember his name?). He could make any kit sound great no matter what brand it was, and you know i`m a Rogers guy,lol.

I think it was,skill and talent.Dino Danelli was a big band drummer in a small band,and that 24" bass drum sounded huge,when everybody else was using 20"-22" drums.He was also a pretty hard hitter with great technique.Love the Rascals.
