yes Bonham used an 18" x 16" drum with his kit..........but it was his floor tom!

Plus you would need some sort of muffling around the perimeter of the shell or reso head as seen in countless photos. (See, I just couldn't resist stirring that back up.)

In the back of my mind, I wasn't even thinking about "that ring". ;)

Here's another guy that got thunder out of his Ludwig kit. I know you Rogers guys, this is hard to believe. What do you think, did he have the kit equipped with Rogers shells? Laughing H

Dan-what a great and wonderful band the"Rascals" were,always one of my favs and what an amazing drummer he was,(can`t remember his name?). He could make any kit sound great no matter what brand it was, and you know i`m a Rogers guy,lol.

I think it was,skill and talent.Dino Danelli was a big band drummer in a small band,and that 24" bass drum sounded huge,when everybody else was using 20"-22" drums.He was also a pretty hard hitter with great technique.Love the Rascals.
