Really? Wow, so it is plausible. Fiddlesticks I guess, but I'm still happy to have them. I wish I could know for certain though.

One thing of note...

There was a Gretsch kit for sale within the last couple of years that had a wrap that was never in any catalog (it looked a table top from a 1950's diner table). I think the consensus was that maybe they made the kit as a super special custom order for someone, or Gretsch was thinking about offering the wrap, and wanted to make a sample kit to see how it looked. In any case, it's entirely plausible that your wrap is original.

Who cleans a Copper gromet so shiny and even cleans the inside of the gromet, all without ever even the slightest touching what should be a gunmetal blue finnish under the raised print ??

Either that badge was changed, or added, it`s suspect !!

It`s a drum,.....Hit It !!

The kit looks re-wrapped. Bearing edges are pretty flat on rocket lug drums also. Shells are usually 3 ply and sound pretty good. Too bad bass drum is single tension. I don't think the parts are worth 500 bucks on this set. I'd value the three drums at about half the seller's price. I have owned a few of these sets in the past.

I thought this too when I saw the grommet, I can`t explain the faded turquoise, purples useually fade to that over many years so I only suspect the badge with the new looking gromet !! Then Why ? of course !!

From what I see, none of the grommets or tacks should come that close to the lettering !! A quality drum co. would make badges so that altering or removal will show !!

You guys were right! It is a 90s wrap, electric turquoise, as used by dw and premier.

Thanks. My chances of getting a matching rack tom are looking up.
