Kent Drums Last viewed: 3 hours ago

I grabbed these drums last night. I originally just saw the FT in a pic on CL with a Pearl Forum set. I inquired about it and the seller said it was a

50's Kent jazz size FT. He told me it was a 14" and he would sell it seperately for $50. I told him Id come check it out. When I got there he had the matching snare and a 12" tom out as well. No bass drum unfortunately. Actually the FT is a 15x15. The wrap on the FT is wrinkled up in spots and has a small hole in it. The wrap is tight on the other two. The color looks really nice on all 3. I took the snare apart today. It has actually darkened rather than faded. The FT bottom rim was off when I got it. Today when I put the head and rim on one of the ear holes doesnt even line up for the tension rod! CRazy! MAybe I can line it up again and it will work? The 12" was missing a bottom rim. I think this snare is a 1 ply. The badges are all there. In pretty decent shape. Anyway just wanted to show these. Going to clean them up and get them ready to sell. If anyone is interested please PM me.

Do any of you have a Kent snare like this? What is up with this strainer? I think the all the hardware on here is really good as I'm cleaning this snare but then I get to this strainer. The lever only moves like half an inch. Is that normal?

Yes I have a snare with the exact same strainer. It moves about a half inch also.

Thank you!

Slowly push the handle down to get it in it's original position, you can see where it's a little bent...Mouse

Welcome to the wonderful world of Kent build quality. You'd be better off redrilling cause at least it will be covered up from the outside.Almost ALL Kent drums have some crooked lugs.White badges are older than blue ones. That is the same color as my first drum set...Grampa Tom made me a FT out of a marching snare...BDP is rarer than the more common Orange,Red or Blue sparkle.A very nice score...
