Welcome to the wonderful world of Kent build quality. You'd be better off redrilling cause at least it will be covered up from the outside.Almost ALL Kent drums have some crooked lugs.White badges are older than blue ones. That is the same color as my first drum set...Grampa Tom made me a FT out of a marching snare...BDP is rarer than the more common Orange,Red or Blue sparkle.A very nice score...

I had actually heard some time ago about none of their drums ever being the same. This is the first time Ive dealt with any Kent toms. A friend had a blue badge snare. I got this snare all cleaned up tonight but was trying to use the original snare wires that were on it but I think they are just to far gone.

Some one please give me some tips for working with this strainer.

Yes sir the drum gods have been good to me and it has come at a great time for my family.

I have not looked at the site but I will. I really enjoy reading about the history of these companies. Thanks for the link!

I was working on the FT tonight to look into the "misalignment" of the bottom rim. I started thinking "it wouldn't have left the factory like that. Low and behold I did get that bottom rim on just fine. I just had to get all the rods set in their place and adjust the rim accordingly. Now it's time to take these shells apart and clean the hardware. You can kinda see the wrinkle in the wrap in the new pic ill post momentarily. Also a couple small holes.

Kent let some REALLY poor quality work leave the factory at times. The crookedly drilled lugs are a good example. As was mentioned, no two were ever alike. Not necessarily a good thing, though. The Kent strainers were plain awful. Very prone to breaking, too. Having said that, they also built some great drums, at times.

I got these all cleaned up now. The worse thing about winter in MI is not being able to work outside or take pics where I think you get your best natural light. Anywho the snare and 12" tom both have nice tight wraps. Still searching for the bottom rim for the 12". The tom is actually a 7.5x12. It sounds good so far as a concert tom. I threw some new heads on the FT last night and that thing has a nice boom. Is this FT a 2 ply shell? Did not get wires for the snare yet but that is in great condition. I just hope the strainer works out. Going to contact a member here first and then probably try selling these locally.

Had my assistant (pictured below) working overtime on these. He's overpaid! He may have done just a good of job as the Kent guys did though!

Here are some of the FT specific. The bottom rim was off when I got this. It is pretty ugly. Lost a lot of chrome. The other rims have some spots but that bottom rim on the 15" is kinda gross looking.
