Tommy P.... I didn't realize Joe Montineri was involved with Legend! Love his snares as well. In fact I always wanted one of his "snamborines".I will have to look, but at one time I had some of Legends original brochures which I will be happy to send to the author of this thread.

Yes indeed! Joe and I are still very good friends too. He calls me a couple times a month it seems! I have FOUR of his JMCD snare drums. He does build REAL NICE drums with precision edges/beds. I'll also ask him if he has any Legend media/etc. left over. I will be seeing him Monday actually! He wants me to bring a snare drum to the Chicago Show to show in my display...

Small world. Back in the day I printed many of those brochures and sell sheets.

Archived issues of Modern Drummer Magazine (available via online search) have information on Legend Drums.

Try late 1970s upward through 1980s and find reviews, history, lots of full page color advertisements.
