Those are both flat-out gorgeous!!!!Cool1

Now would you date those early, mid or late 1930s?

Also is all the hardware (drum spurs, mounting hardware for cowbells, etc.) of the same vintage?

Great pics.

Ah, there is a painted head bass drum on ebay at the moment,It was listed under furnishing as some one added a glass top,The drum is I'm sure a Leedy single tension 28".I made equiries about shipping to the U.K. but would cost too much for me but I did suggest that the seller listed it under percusion,Its very art deco with a dancing young lady,My mother would have said that "she looks no better that she should be"??? ebay no. 280400436149. Sammypenn,...

yep, I know the one very well,... the person has listed that several times at the same price! I never understand why people don't just lower their asking prices if something doesn't sell,.... you'd think they'd want to just be rid of it after their 3rd time listing something??

Not sure of date, but somewhere back there. The first is a BD head; the second and third are the front and back of a Chinese tom that would have been the tom-tom of choice back in the time that the BD head was being used.

Hi TheHotIron.

Glad to see other forum members are interested in painted heads, I've loved these ever since I first saw them. I have a few in my collection and always looking for more, I have a Leedy Spider Web Girl set with a Blace Elite snare for sale at the moment, interested people mail me for pics ect.

Anyway getting back to the point in hand here are my additions to the shread.

Dave Brown from England.

Hope these are helpfull.
