on another group I frequent we would say "you suck" for getting such a great deal. That was quite a haul.

They appear to be Slingerland Era Leedy and they look like they are in really great shape.

From vic54

Here's some pics of my flea market find in Tulsa OKlahoma. I'm a gutair player and thougt it would be handy to have a set of drums around. I passed on these at first the guy wanted $50. Went home and looked on the internet for about 5 minutes and immediatly went back wilth cash. Walked in and the guy says I'll take $40. The set is a Shelly Manne 1958 Set NO.11 (I think) also includes a 1937-38 WFL Twin Senative snare. And the almost famous mispelled "Shelley" on the high hat pedal casting. Calfskin heads on the floor drum sound great. This set is looked like it was packed up after a gig and left alone for 40 years. I would be cool to know who played it but I think it may have been the devil cause now I'm obessed with vintage drums.[Attachment: 34413][Attachment: 34414][Attachment: 34415][Attachment: 34416][Attachment: 34417]

Monster score ! Unbelievable when stuff like this happens. I thought I kicked ass when I scored my little six-lug Slingerleedy snare for 60 bucks. You have that trumped by a mile. Love all the accessories too.

That will be one of the "scores of the century". I'm surprised it was still there when you left and came back. You are indeed lucky....

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
