Nice drum. I'm guessing from the 80s era, Monroe, NC.

It's hard to tell what the wood is on that one. Odd that it has a B/O badge and Standard lugs. My 5x14 was a 4-ply with 2 maple, 2 poplar; standard lugs and had a B/W badge. Crisp drum.

Lots of variations on those, clear interiors, yellow interiors, spatter paint interiors, B/O badge, B/W badge, Standard lugs, Bowtie Lugs. The wrap is generally chrome plastic rather than the metal stuff and only glued at the seam. Shell is generally 4 ply "select hardwoods" (maple/poplar).

I happen to like these when they have the bowtie lugs (like pictured below) and I have a couple that I picked up for less than $75 each. Stripped and rewrapped to match a set they make a great "poor man's Jazzfest" and sound just fine.

I know their not worth much, I bought this for $35 on cl, but it seems to be a well made drum.

I think they sound great for what they usually cost. They were made in the USA and the quality is right at where the rest of Ludwig's stuff was at the time (admittedly not their peak years).

I used to have one and really liked it. Just don't over-crank it because those standard lugs are prone to bend at the screw pins.

1972/1978 Rogers Powertone/Big R mix ebony
