Thanks Dennis.
Now you've got a nice set of photos for use when selling it. As I said before, I was happy enough with the identification, but just giving the full set of things one looks for. The more details you can tick on that list, the better the identification for potential buyers. There are many individual things which make COB "more likely" (eg small knob muffler or crimped snare beds), but since there are "one in a thousand" counterexamples to each of them lurking somewhere...well, with Ludwig it pays to never say never. Yes Sir
I'm still holding out hope that once I get enough data I can write up just using the full dressed weight and how accurate that might be. It isn't a top priority for me at the moment (I've still got Avedis stamps on the brain) but it is there in the queue. I'm always on the lookout for simpler ways for us to be able to identify things without using destructive tests, and without having to have expensive tools.
Oh, and John. I'm with you on senior brain freeze. For example I couldn't recall "crimped" to describe the snare beds. That's why I'm trying to create web pages for everything I work on. That was I can go and read it later so I remember what I found out. Getting old is not for the young and inexperienced. We need cunning.
