Ludwig Superbeat Drum Sets Last viewed: 6 hours ago

Loading...

I found some Ludwig drum sets listed in a vintage webpage as Ludwig Superbeats. They are configured the same as a Rogers Headliner with 14x20 bass and 8x12 and 16x16 toms. Has anyone every heard of or used the designation Ludwig Superbeats before?

Anyone happen to know what other companies called those kits, such as Gretsch or Slingerland or Leedy?

Never seen that name used in a conjunction with a Ludwig set in any of the catalogs. I suppose it possibly might have turned up in some obscure flyer that I haven't seen but I doubt it. The outfit names really have very little significance as they were just catchy names Ludwig attached to various cataloged combinations of their drums.

I think that most drummers called those drum sets and similar drum sets from other companies by the same name........four piece drum sets regardless of the sizes.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

In a similar listing for a kit in black diamond pearl, below the burgundy sparkle kit,the seller says in the discription copy, the kit is a combination of a super classic and a down beat "that "we" like to call superbeat".So the seller it seems made up the model name.

Nice detective work Steve B. I rather like the name according to the seller's explanation. I believe it is worth adopting.

Um no. You may well know all the Ludwig outfit names.

That "flyer" is a modern web site made up by the seller to display his wares on his own web site. It is not an old Ludwig flyer.

...or as the other Steve B already phrased it above:
