From Legacy drummer

Knowing the color will help detemine the value. Its not as clear cut as the blue and clear being cheapest. It may be faded or smoke stained to the point where its value is very diminished. It is not a matter of opinion on the kit but simple fact.

The kit looks cool whatever color it is, but I don't think concert toms are that desireable and I think that would bring the down the value more than what color the drums are.

Can't say for sure ... what hardware, if any, is included?

For me the discoloration is a negative. Concert toms may diminish the value, but it's seven drums as opposed to five. Matching snare is a boost.

As reference, I bought a (truly) clear Vistalite 12-13-16-22 double-headed set with matching snare for $1,400 shipped in February. Some on the forum thought I slightly overpaid, but a similar set just went for $1,575 shipped this past weekend.

Clear acrylic seems to be trending these days, to wit recent ads with Mike Portnoy (Tama), Thomas Lang (Sonor), and Brian Frazier-Moore (Crush). Per an earlier post, I did not buy mine because they're cool all of a sudden, but because I'd been intrigued by them since high school and finally had the funds to do so. That seems to be a good call: I gigged the Vistalites outside over the weekend and got numerous comments from audience members afterward on how sharp they looked (and some even mentioned their thunderous sound through the PA). I never receive any such comments about my blakrome Slingerlands.

I guess the Slingerlands are my wife, but the Ludwigs are my mistress.

I'm not feeing the love here. The two things that jump out to me are the uniformity of the fade in the original yellow.I for one have never seen vistas that faded, and that uniformly.

Second. The bass drum hoop inlay looks like gold,or even champagne sparkle. But there is no fade in the inlay at all.I would love to see close ups of the badges.:2Cents:

Take any yellow vista kit and leave it in the front window of a music store for a summer or two and... viola! Badly, albeit evenly, faded drums!

My best guess is; that kit sat in a store window for a long time, in full sun. It's a lot of drums, and it's complete. That same kit in 'primo condition' pulls in $1500.+.

As is, in current condition, I figure $900.00, to no more than, $1000.00 is a fair price. Gotta find someone willing to shell out near a grand for a badly faded kit. That's not going to be easy. This one will take awhile to sell.

Too many great drums to list here!
