Lyra snare on eBay...insane price! Last viewed: 5 hours ago

I messaged the seller to inquire how they came up with this price. Here's the response... "one sold 6 months ago for $400......send me your Best Offer".I requested that the seller provide me with proof!-Mark

Mark, you are so right! I had some time today so I checked out some vintage MIJ snare prices on Ebay. Outrageous!!! How anybody in his right mind can ask such figures is insanity! I play with a big ol' seven piece Star set which includes a marcher and cocktail in matching turquoise sparkle. This set is my pride and joy BUT, for my main snare, I use a Ludwig Supraphonic simply because it sounds better than any of my six other Star snares! How any fool can offer up a Japanese stencil for figures of this amplitude is disgusting! Just an opinion but,...

Of course, the one that sold six months ago was some other brand....Roberts or Reagan or some other name with an "R" that was written out in cursive letters on the shell.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

Indeed. I guess he thinks it's one of these, which incidentally was a slightly better deal than the Lyra:) ebay auction number 111682810958

At least they said scarce not RARE .. haha

Warning ... Avoid member statuscymbal here, vintage_collector on DFO , and americanpatriot10 on eBay. Email me for his name. All are the same shady guy who has burned me and a list of other members on both boards . He is also selling on Facebook too ..

I messaged the seller to provide proof of a similar drum that sold for $400. His response? "eBay completed sales". What type of nonsense answer is that?! Just another scumbag who knows nothing about drums!

Who would have ever thought that these old mij snares would have an asking price such as this,be it real or not.I think in the future we`ll see heavy prices for the mij complete sets in rare wraps. They have been much more affordable for a very long time than the USA vintage models, thus a much larger audience of potantial buyers, and i have a feeling this is all about to change.Love that wrap on that baby-beautiful...
