Mint 69 Ludwig. Too mint to be true?? Last viewed: 3 hours ago

So, that's @ $2700 US. I shipped a '66 silver sparkle 13/16/20 for $2235 including shipping to Switzerland about a month ago. It was a very nice kit that had a bit of ginger-aling. The 13/16/22 is the preferred sizes as well (not the 20" bd).

This is a kit you can make an offer on, btw. Seems priced accordingly unless there's funny business going on. I'd fire some very particular questions and see what the answers are & go from there,

Perhaps I missed it due to my one functioning eye, but I don't see anywhere in the seller's description any mention of "original wrap." At the same time he seems to use the word "original" quite often when describing most everything else on this kit. I would never make the assumption that the wrap is included under his very generic "all original" statement in his listing. Assumptions only lead to trouble for buyers.

I suggest that you contact the seller and directly ask the question -- "Is the wrap on this kit original"? If he answers with a definitive "yes" and you purchase the kit only to find out that it's not, you've got justification to cancel the transaction down the road. Make sure you keep a written copy of his response to your question regarding the wrap, just in case you need it sometime down the road.

Good luck in whatever you decide!

From kevins

I've read around here the wrap came out of the scarf when the clear interiors came about in '69 ?With that said, however, the exterior scarf looks shortened to me.....whatever that might mean...

kev on it !!!

''thats the way of it, it looks the same to me and very pretty ,even if they are the common color as far as the over lap goes, on the later kits i have a 68/69 and the overlap is not quite as much but never say never il check to b sure ...

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

My 1969 Luwigs have a date stamps in Feb 1969, no paper tags, clear interiors, and the silver sparkle was lapped into the scarf joints, except for the 2 piece wrap on the BD.

I bet he is seeing a lot of hits of his ebay item and getting excited! Nice looker and I would love to see more pics of the interiors.

Extremely nice condition....perhaps too nice but I don't see anything that raises a red flag in those photos. The one grommet you can see inside the tom looks undisturbed and factory. Not that that can't be done but if someone does perform a perfect rewrap then how would you know?

well there you go, I've learnt something today. BTW, I was referring to the painting of the BD hoops as not being a problem rather than the possibility of a rewrap. For the money I'd expect original wrap, but if the wrap is original then it's very nice.

I just found these one owner beauties about a month ago. 1967 22-13-16. Oh yes, brilliant, original wrap. I doubt they barely left the house. Original reso heads. They may have to move, so if anyone is interested. Drop a line.

My 1969 B/O kit also has the wrap like that. This was a time of great change. The rail mount is correct for that period. I saw an "all original" 1964ish kit advertised recently with that sort of rail mount recently. *sigh*

Does anybody else see a serial number on the one poor closeup of the badge? I don't. And in the picture it just doesn't have the right "vibe". I'd love to know if it does have any serial numbers (on that one badge and we just can't see them?) or on the other two badges.
