Can anyone in the UK tell us how much this is in today's money (on the price written on here)? Thanks
121 Pounds...don't know the next 2 parts...but...
I see Shillings on here...that's been a while!
121 pounds is $197.64 US buck a roonies.
BTW that's a great wrap color. This past summer I think it was....someone on DFO was selling a Premier kit in the same color. I forget the exact sizes but it included a 2nd floor tom. Think it was 16x18 deep. $3000. CryBaby wish I had the cash it was sweet.
Glenn,
I meant if you took the Pound then...in today's real $$ what would it be...?
Like in 1963 ...$121 US would be what in today's money.....probalbly close to $1,000 I would think.....
So,121 Pounds could be $1,500 in today's funds....
The Pound has really changed in value since then I think....
I am sure that set was more then $190 US then :-)
Oh todays value!! LOL yea a bit more I'd think with inflation and all. I just plugged 121 pounds into a currency converter and that's what it gave me US dollar wise. Not sure what todays actual value conversion you can try this site though.
Thanks Wayne......I just got hip to the Blue Pearl finish this past summer, and I was telling Betty of how much I liked it...then I find this set for a very good price....in W.Virginia...not all that far away in terms of UPS.......from Michigan....
Congrats on your purchase. If this is your first Permier kit, you're in for a treat. Those shells are so thin, open and just sing. As I mentioned in another thread, Premier had the coolest colors.
If you need heads, they're going to be pre-international. Remo has them through a special order. If you need a 20" (pre-international) bass drum head, I have an unused Remo white smooth I need to sell. My kit was during the transition, tom tom is pre-international and bass drum is a standard size.

Looking forward to your pics of the kit blair !

Hi Tim,
Bought my first Premier kit in around 1987.....even then I thought the LOKFAST stands were super hip looking.....like pieces of art.....
Just in the last 2-3 years I have decided to go pretty much entirely Premier....
I figure you can drive yourself totally bonkers trying to find Gretsch,Rogers,Ludwid,Sling etc all day long....
Anyway....AFAIK....just the "12" on this kit will be pre-International.....
I could see in the pics he sent the 12 had a aftermarket Remo...as the metal hoop didn't fit the head perfectly......
In roughly 72 hours...I will know for sure though.....
I have had three 14 by 14 FT's...and all have taken regular heads.....and pretty sure the BD's take reg heads too....
£121 in 1963 is now "worth"
£2,150.00 using the retail price index
£4,540.00 using average earnings
Here is another set I sold a while back to a guy in France - these were fitted with new Ambassadors in the special 16 and 12 "pre-international sizes"
Hi David,
Thanks for that....
guess I did Ok for $300 then?LoLoLoLo
