Andy- you most certainly scored a winner here in every regard.I love the versatility on this drum and what i really liked was when the snares were off, it had that timbale tone and i`m a sucker for timbales.Very cool unit and will add alot of snare voices to your collection.Hope you`re healing well...and Happy Belated B-Day!

I've never played one myself but I bet it'll produce a killer rimshot.

Happy belated. Nice drum. Enjoy it! My b/o badge hammered bronze looks light in color like brass. But it's supposed to be bronze. I just got a smooth bronze model and it does look like bronze.

As I was cleaning it up I expected to find a B or BR stamp, which I didn't, but instead once inside the drum I found a 109 stamped upside down on the shell. It took me a minute to realize it was 109 and not 601, LOL.

I have been playing this snare non-stop since it's acquisition and it's like a little Supra on steroids! I was actually surprised after listening to sound files of 14" x 6.5" hh bronze Supra. When the 6.5 is cranked up it doesn't sound that different. It has more bottom end and probably more volume, but I recognized the same timbre. Of course, now I want one too, but then I throw the Dyna back on it's stand to remind myself how lucky I am. I'm not married/in a couple so I have to nag myself back to "reasonable"...

That's a gorgeous snare. I used a little 13" MIJ snare for a while and dang it if a 14" doesn't *still* feel too big! Great score and way to treat yourself on the big day....:)
