Nothing shabby there Jeff. Be proud and play them loud! They look cool and you can make any drum sound good if you use the right heads and tune it right.

Amazing how great these old Kent sets can sound if you just give them a chance. The wood has mellowed and just waiting for a good ear to make them sing.I love old Kent kits and if i had the room i would have a set. They`re great in the studio too!

The heads on these drums are all mixed/matched. In an attempt to save money, I have been taking heads off of different drums all week to set up my new zebra wood kit for home and my Rocker kit that I use in our practice room. So buying new heads for the Kents is not in the plan for now anyway. That doesn't mean I cant try to tune up the ones on the kit though, so I will give that a go. I still need some spurs for the bass drum too.

Thanks for the nice comments on my Kent set! And thank you to those posting your Kent drums, keep them coming!

Thank you!

I will 'keep them coming'....

I only have one Kent drum...

this 60's Blue Foil badged 9x13 tom. It came with an original Kent resonant head.

I've been told the finish is Silver Sparkle....I don't know for sure...

It is a Ginger Sparkle colour now.

I sometimes use this tom with my late 50's Gretsch Gold Sparkle kit. It fits in well and has great tone. Some of the lugs were slightly out of alignment with the hoops....they were factory drilled that way. There was no way that I could get tension rods on the drum without having them at a serious angle putting undue tension on the lug nut threads. I had to 'customize' a little by taking a round file and cutting a few of the lug screw holes in the shell a little larger (horizontally). That did the trick!
