I had a set once...someone local called me up with them...can't even remember much about them...which is unusual....

Wanna say they were concert toms...but am drawing a blank...

I remember the plastic lugs though....

Never have seen these at all. What we do to save money in production situations sometimes works...........and sometimes not.Sounded like a good idea to someone in charge. It would be cool to own one. Thanks for sharing.....I did not see them the first time.

Are the shells of these drums 3-ply? The badges are close to Ludwig

Standards. Never knew that Ludwig made these. I'd like to see a closer

shot of these lugs.

Take a look at pic 4 in post #1 of this thread, I have a close up of the lug. The shells were 3ply with rings, 4 ply without rings, whatever Ludwig had laying around at the time.

Thank you!

This is interesting, I wonder how many of these kits actually exist. Some of you think these drums look real nice. Well, yes they do, but to me they are ugly when you compare them to the drums I covered in real maple veneer.

Most were concert toms, but I have seen a couple on eBay that weren't. However, one had Classic lugs and the other had generic Pearl lugs. so they may have been made into two headed drums.

I was thinking the Pearl lugged kit was a MIT that had ended up with a few Ludwig Combo badges, actually. There wasn't any hardware and the pictures were lousy. I messaged the seller, but got no response.

Also, I didn't mean to hijack your thread with the Combo stuff... apologies.

No problem, its all drum related stuff here. Glad you came to the party!

So, to answer a question I still have. Anybody out there seen an Educator kit

anywhere? Some one else must have one.

Thank you!

3 days ago I picked one up! Very sad condition, but I knew how rare they were and couldn't pass it up. I had a 13" Silver Sparkle tom that I was $20 into and the guy needed it for completing a set so straight traded me. Unfortunately the original owner drill a bunch of holes when the plastic lugs started breaking.
