Purdie... Gotta say.. you look like "a kid in a toy shop" with that outfit...Nice snare & a good story to go..Cheers

LJ - Funny, my wife kept telling me to smile! She told me, "You look grim! You're supposed to be happy!" lol I was upset because I looked so fat in the pictures! I'm 6' even and I weigh 185 lbs. No "belly'' at all. I must have been slouching! Gotta watch that, no good for the back.

Legacy - What kind of art are you wearing? Thank you for the very kind comment...

John

Too many great drums to list here!

I am almost fully sleeved on both arms and I have several on my chest, legs and back of my neck. I have a standing appt. with my buddy who started slinging ink. He is touching up areas that have faded. I have a back piece designed that should take about 2 years to do.

Good Ol' Mike...that was awesome for him to do, John. He knew I needed a hoop-mounted tom holder for my '49 Leedy kit and kept notifying me when he saw things on eBay and I ended up buying some pieces that I needed. So glad he was able to help you out...and not surprised...what a stand up guy and a beautiful snare!

P.S. I've got my armed covered in ink along with my chest and upper back...it sure is addicting. Hmmm...maybe I'll start a thread under the General section...

let me see if i can direct it back to drums....:D

here is my 65 ludwig hollywood kit in sky blue pearl. ive got 2 matching jazz festivals(long story...) and a pioneer. i also play mine one up but set them up properly for the pic. 22/12/12/16. ive got a couple kits that i use the hoop mounted clippers on. clippers usually mount with the diamond tom mount. but i found out that the clipper will also fit in the clip mounts that these early hollywoods have. i use the center tom mount with a z bar mount for my ride cymbal.

mike

p.s.-since the pic i have added a complete set of early 60's ludwig original heads top and bottom, the smooth ones. they look and sound great.

Since we're sharing some pics of some Luddy Sky Blue Pearl's I thought I'd throw in a pic of mine. This is the first kit my dad got me back in 1963.

Ok then, lets make it Official:

If you own a sky blue kit, or special drum that you own, post photos here! The convo is also open to tatoos! (I love tats.) With the proviso that I don't have to take a photo of my sagging 63 year old arms to show off my tats! LOL That kind of stuff is ok for the young bucks, but old men are not fond of showing off any body parts after 60.

Aaron - That's how I met Mike too! When I first joined DFO we hit it off right away and Mike used to pm me with leads to all the parts and drums I was ever looking for. He a very warm, generous guy with a million-dollar personality that goes out of his way for people. It's why I learned to have big love and respect for the guy. He earns it from people just by being who he is. I love his wife Anna too, who is an even bigger sweet-heart than mike is!

Show your SBP's and talk tats! It's on!
