I googled Mike Curotto and found his website. As of march 2006 Mike had 425+ snare drums. Very interesting reading.
Wow Mike!!

The nice thing about Mike's collection is that it's actually a real collection. The drums are actually collectible models. Most of mine are simply what I got a cheap deal on through eBay. LOL
Probably won't see many "student" models in Mike's collection. LOL
Nice job on the clear racks. I like that.

I have 32 in my "collection."
Rogers Tower, Powertone, Dynasonic, and Superten mostly. Plus a scattering of a few others.
My Dynasonics span from one of the lowest numbered COB beavertail drums through production end in 1984. I have two 6.5 All Maple XP10 drums with consecutive serial numbers. One of my 6.5 Superten maples was custom built by Rogers for Gina Schock of The Go-Go's in January 1983 when she was a Rogers player.
Ive aquired another 6.5 Superten since this pic was taken, as well as a 60s keystone badge acrolite. Back in sept. I sent off one of the Acrolites to a kid who desperately needed a decent snare drum.

I've got snares that match my kits that I play. I've got two Luddy snares left over from other kits that I'm selling/trading.
I've got ONE single lone snare that I hold on to that is special. It's my Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle snare that I had custom built for my son.
So, my snare collection is ... one.
Thats about like mine. I have snares that match nearly all my kits, and I have purchased them at pawn shops, craigslist and ebay. I veve had a few give to me also. My favorites are my luddy supraphonic, super sensitive, jazzfest, marching snare, pioneer, acrolites, sonor teardrop, slingy 1960 student radio king, but the one I play is a dw Craviatto solid shell collector's series. I have a few pork pie, a lil squeeler, and a big black that are pretty cool. The last 3 aint vintage.
