Billy - If Mikey was a hawk, he'd be able to spot a field mouse down in the brush from a mile high! I was impressed that he spotted that.John
Thanks!! John,I think i know the seller and most if not all set's he try's to sell on site's like this all have problems if you know what iam talking about...All i can say is ask for photos of the inside of the shells or if you can go check them out in person before you buy!!...Mikey
looks from the filled holes like it was a rogers mount...
Mikey you do know me...right! I've never listed here before. I've sold two pearl sets on Craiglist in San Diego, period.
The Bass Drum does have a patched hole as you so brilliantly pointed out. I am certain that whoever buys the set would make their decision based on what they see and hear when they come to check them out.
.
"I think i know the seller and most if not all set's he try's to sell on site's like this all have problems" is PURE BS. I guess you have nothing better to do than troll posts warning the ignorant of the epic disaster about to befall them.
As in all transactions, full disclosure is important. This kit was advertised as a "Club Date" kit. Sure as heck looks like one from afar. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck....
Upon closer inspection as Mike performed with his eye, it was detected that the bass drum has extra holes not inherent in a Club Date bass. The natural conclusion... it is not therefore a Club Date kit. Case closed.
I don't think Mike thinks of himself as some kind of divine protector over the VDF flock...he's just a skilled and knowledgeable observer of equipment, as are a number of members here.
Its always best to mention any repairs or alterations right up front, especially extra holes. It was probably your intention to mention this when a potential buyer shows up. It looks fine and likely sounds great and would make a great players kit at $699 or less. Good luck on the sale.
Cheers!-
