Loading...

I'd like to find out how much my Camco set is worth and how old it is:

All drums are Camco wood, black pearl finish, white interiors.

4 mounted tom toms: 12x8, 13x9, 14,10 and 15,12.

2 floor tom toms: 18x16, 20x18.

2 base: 14x22, 14x24.

1 Slingerland share: chrome finish, white interior 14x6.

Some rim damage/missing rims.

Man, you gotta post better pics than that; too small. Use a camera, not your phone. I would love to see that kit in all it's glory. Looks awesome!

(Can't help with value, though. Better pics will.)

Judgeing by the shape and brightness of the badges I can see, I'm gonna suggest 60's LA , but can't tell the condition from the pics. ! I

HOLY GUACAMOLE! YOU HIT THE CAMCO MOTHER LODE!

Yeah, looks like LA, but hard to tell from the pictures. Post larger, more detailed pix, especially of details, badges, etc... and be prepared for the digital drool you'll be getting.

Welcome to the nuthouse, by the way!

Chanute or Oaklawn era? Are the reso side bearing edges still in good condition? Are the hoops that you have Camco? and tension rods? Could you give us a more detailed description? Are you wanting to sell? Lot's of Camco buyers here! Thanks, and Welcome to the Forum! Welcome

Since the interiors are white we can rule out LA (1973-78). BDP was very popular in the Oaklawn (1961-71) era but not so much in the Chanute (1971-73) era. My guess would be Oaklawn but without better pics it's very hard to tell. Basically you have two kits there. I would guess in the $3000-$5000 range depending on era, condition, missing parts, etc.

I thinks it's just the lighting. I'm not up on my finishes for LA but I'm not sure BDP was even an option.

I owned a WMP LA kit years ago. I don't have one of my LA Camco catalogues handy, but it's possible and likely that BDP was available.

It's also possible that some of the drums have been rewrapped.

No doubt, there is two kits there and BDP was not an option during the L.A. era. Even if it were special order with that wrap during the L.A. years , they would not have painted the interiors white and the ITC placement in reference to the badges, points to Oaklawn or Chanute. Definitely not L.A. era. The reason I thought there was a good possibility that they were Chanute or a combination of Oaklawn and Chanute era's over the obvious reasons was because of the extra large sizes of the floor toms which were fairly uncommon during the Oaklawn years. Most of the 18s and 20s I have seen were Chanute era. I am really surprised the owner asked for help, yet didn't provide any details, less than adequate photos, and didn't even bother to update it or answer any questions. Never the less, DolFan nailed it even without the help!
