Need Help To I.d. This Old "luddy" Last viewed: 56 minutes ago

Loading...

I picked up an old COB Ludwig snare drum the other day and am trying to determine the date of manufacture as well as I.D. the particular model.

Unfortunately, other than the shell I haven't had time to clean the rims, strainer, snare butt, etc. as of yet. It's a 10-lug model with rim clips. Engraved into the shell is "Ludwig Trademark."

I've attached a few pics of the shell, the lugs and the "filthy" strainer in hopes that some of you Ludwig gurus might be able to help me out.

THANKS in advance for your time and your input!

THANKS! Your timing is perfect -- I was just about to place a post in the "Restoring Vintage Drums" section of the forum to see if anyone had any ideas of what product to use on the strainer.

You're well ahead of the game! THANKS SO MUCH!Bowing

I'll be heading out today to pick up some Evapo-Rust.

Mikey: I apologize for the late response. When you get a minute could you please drop me a PM and let me know how much you'd be asking for the Slingerland clamps? I'm going to check early this week to see if I've got any "in-house." THANKS!Bowing
