New Camco snare Last viewed: 26 minutes ago

From Dan Boucher

I had that same snare 15-20 years ago. Absolutely one of the best I've ever owned. Probably shouldn't have let it go. You will love how smooth the strainer. Mechanically genious. Could be a long hunt for the correct hoops, but you do have them on the blue snare, which is a real plus. They are a bugger to locate, but have really great sound qualities in general and amazing rim shot advantages due to the height and tight backward roll they put into them. You will notice when you do the beach gig.

Dan,

Yeah I noticed the incorrect top hoop when I got the snare home. To me it was not a big issue. The kit I traded was my Rogers kit with all the wrap cracks - so yeah a kit with issues in my mind. We were both happy and overall from the "players" point of view its a winner. On the collector's side its a very nice drum and I think worth every bit of what Bob was asking for.

Manny,

Glad you're pleased with the snare...if I run across a correct top hoop at a decent price I'll let you know... there's one on eBay but it's pricey.

I cleaned the Strata kit up a bit and just put in on the Bay...

Bob,

I hope you do well on the Rogers sale! I love the snare. I played it for about an hour last night. Went through some of my favorite be bop tunes. The hoop I am not super worried about so just give me a call whenever you come across one.

I can't believe no one has bought your Camco kit yet? That is wild. We might have to talk about that once I move another kit.

Manny,

Thanks...I'm making a few calls on the hoop so if I can find a nice one I'll give you a call. Looking for the other items you want as well. The strata kit shows really well, so hopefully it will sell this weekend.

Funny you mentioned my black Oaklawn kit listed on eBay...it just sold a few hours ago on the BIN...going to England...wish it could have stayed here...

Very Best!

Bob,

Small world! I sent you an SMS but same happened to me. Ludwig Piccolo with BIN and off to England it goes. So far two snares to the UK, one kit to Australia and some Sonor parts to Sweden this month.

Have a great weekend!
