Is that the same 247drums that used to be in Haverhill, MA? If so, I wondered what happened to them.......

First, thank you for starting this thread Ludwig-Dude. 24/7drums is owned and operated by Sergio Bellotti. He's been in Winchester for about 3 years and just moved across the street from his little store to a much bigger store over the Summer. I didn't know there was a 247 in Haverhill but it could be the same. Sergio and his right hand man Mark are very pleasant to deal with and has a good selection of cymbals and drums, used and new from low end to high end as well as some vintage stuff. He bought some gear from me over the Summer and we worked out a great deal for both of us. Sergio is an amazing drummer and teaches at Berklee.

Yes that's the same 247 drums then. He was in Haverhill about 4-5 years ago, the shop had been in two different locations in Haverhill during that time. Also, he was doing a pretty good ebay/internet business at the time. I figured they closed up due to conflicts with his teaching schedule at Berklee, seeing it was just Sergio at the time trying to run things.

I did not make it in today- not enough time and traffic was particularly horrible with the rain.

I did stop into a smaller shop in Maine, right on the way to the highway from my customer. They had some interesting stuff (like a 26X14 Yamaha bass drum orphan!?!?) and a particularly nice Gretsch Catalina (ash?) kit in blue fade that was very tempting to me... 22X18 (i think- at least 16) kick, 8,10,12 and a 14X14 FT AND a matching snare and hardware for a VERY nice price. If it was a 20" bass drum, I would have bought it right there.

But, not to leave a drum shop (well, it is a full line music store actually) empty handed, I scored a very nice 80's vintage 18" thin crash for $108.00. Just the slightest key-holing beginning, but otherwise clean with not so much as a flea bite. Looks to have never been cleaned either, because the ink logos are crisp and sharp.Jump For Joy

The owner was super nice too- a very cool guy. I have his card but it is in the car and I'm too lazy to go and get it...Toilet

Talked with someone today that also went over there-good news we have a pure drum shop in our area again-my concern is that I heard the prices for kits were a little off the charts-I dont know how they are going to compete or what their strategy is with a big music retailer just down the road-I am all for supporting the little guy to an extent but if there are hundreds of dollars in difference in price.....

I was in there for a couple hours and actually his prices on snares were right in the ballpark. Even a bit on the lower end of prices. I think the silver veil Radio king was at like $649. That's a drum that some people would try to push over a $1000. A 71 COB Sound King for $199. The DW's he had were all brand new but 10 years old and the prices were pretty on par as far as I'm concerned. 45% off on most cymbals. A clear vistalite snare for I think $299, old Supras in the low 300's if I recall. There wasn't much in the way of lousy low end drums either. I personally thought he had some very good deals.

Off the charts how? The drums that they have in stock are all professional line/high end drums or vintage on consignment going for current market value. If you're looking for a cheapy set of drums, then go to banjo center. If you want the good stuff then you go to a real drumshop.
