I was wondering if/when Gretsch might re-introduce their earlier style bearing edges. Now if they would only make a round badge w/o a hole!

How sweet does this one look? You can order with all vintage hardware on the kit.

Have you had a chance to play a set of Broadcasters? If yes, can you post a review please. How do they compare sonically to the old kits?

Inquiring minds want to know... :p

John

Too many great drums to list here!

Beautiful drums!

For sentimental reasons I like the Maple/Gum/Maple 3ply shells. The new Broadcasters here have Maple/Poplar/Maple plys. I would not be able to distinguish the difference sonically I'm sure....just a preferrence that's all.

These drums have the new 302 hoops which are a beefed up Stickchopper....very nice, I have some. Again...I prefer the old (and new) die-cast hoops.

Awesome looking drums though.

I saw one on the website from Fork's Drum Closet in Nashville with the modern hardware and I believe it was $2499 for the 3-piece 13/16/24.

This from Gretsch:

"Sonically, the new Broadkasters create the deep thump, woody, organic drum tones associated with the original Gretsch Broadkaster drums from the 1950’s. Modern shell production and finishing technology gives Broadkasters added tonal density, presence and volume than the originals. The shell construction without reinforcement hoops produces pure, open and resonant tones."
