Holly crap!!! Why not me!!?? You are pretty casual about your find. I might have a BB gun around somewhere and a couple hundred bucks for trade!:D:D:D

That is a dream find! If you dig playing drums there is no need to upgrade from this! Congrats Bob!

Thanks everyone. I've been thinking about replacing the heads and storing the original ones. Being a beginner (to say the least), I'm afraid I'm going to tear them up. Any opinions? I would just like to keep all the original stuff in as good as shape as possible.

Bob,

I am BRAND new to drums and was pointed towards these, regular Coated Ambassadors on both sides of the drum. It is supposed to be a great starting point for eventual experimentation with heads. Pick any vendor, they should have them, this link is just an example...

I bought a set for my 12" tom (whose heads were in tatters or missing) and couldn't be happier. It sounds like I think a tom should sound like... If that makes any sense. :)

Surrounded by drummers here! (I am a guitarist.)

Thanks man. Really good prices on there. Fixing to place an order. I guess the specs I found online and the measurements I took (they are the same) should be adequate to order the correct size heads with confidence, huh?

hi bob, wow what a really sweet deal and drum kit you came accross, sure wish i could have that kind of luck.

i noticed you said guns are you real passion. i have a passion for them too, but music and music instruments are my first. with that, i have a cup'l guns i'd trade ya for that fine drum set. Excited

anyway, you got yourself an awesome kit to learn how to play and will never have to upgrade (unless you want to). wishing you the best of luck with it and learning to play.

Stay Wiggly,
Robyn

Ok. Against my better judgement, I've decided to sell the set. Given all the information, does anyone have a ballpark idea on price I should ask? Should I sell the drums and cymbals separately? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Bob

If you decide to give up playing - then fine. At the same time, if you decide to stick with it and you sell this kit, you will regret it all the rest of the days of your life. That kit is a beautiful find, and the cymbals are choice as well. If you sell this set and continue playing, you will wish you still had these. This is the advice of a veteran drummer and it has been echoed several times here for a reason.

Best Regards,

John

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

Welcome... dream score on that one!

Don't mean to sound like Buzz Killington here... but life is funny you know. I think I would offer the guy something... even if it is just a case of beer.

I mean wow, you want to learn to play the drums and you stumble across a set of matched bowling ball Oyster Blues with those cymbals... some time in your life you paid if forward... guard that Karma man... make an offering.

I'm just say'in...Cool Dude

Not a Guru... just interested..
