You think it's worth $800? I will buy it if so.

On any given day, a Powertone wood is worth 350-500 in excellent to mint condition, regardless of color. Blue Onyx, Black Onyx, Sparkling Green, Wine Red Ripple, Steel Gray Ripple, Sky Blue Ripple, Pink Strata, and a couple others will add a minimum of 200-600 on top of that base price, again, also in excellent to mint condition. This drum isn't mint, it is a time capsule, with the original box, in never seen the light of day condition. Essentially, a time machine has landed you in 1966. I think 800 is top dollar for the drum. But then, there is only one. Some folks might disagree with that, some might not. It is delightfully tempting.

I think what he means is that it's better than mint. You could have a played drum with parts replaced, heads and such that's in mint shape or you could have a drum that's never been played, tinkered with etc, in the original box!! Probably the only box you'll ever see. If I had unlimited funds it would be gone already!!

It's at $600 now...

I think it's worth the money ...however it's an collectors piece...

Meaning it's not for playing...

To buy,put on display it's worth the $600 ..maybe alil more...

But again....to look at...not play...

The box, wrapping, key etc...is great for the Sizzle...

But this is coming from my point of view...I like to play them...

Not just look at them... :)

Well I could have bought it now...but of course I waited and now it rolled to an outright auction. I bid up to as much as I am willing to pay for it and I am still the high bidder. If anyone bids higher than me then I guess they REALLY want that drum.

I put my humble bid on it... and it lasted just a few seconds!!! Laughing H

My premonition is that beauty will arise around the 8 or 9 bills at least...

Agreed 100% it´s a collector piece, without any doubt.....

But if this were mine, I probably put some new heads and I´ll hit it, as my last day on earth!!! D' Drummer

I am still kicking myself for not just buying it now :( lol Oh well we will see what happens.

I have paid near $2k for a snare drum but I play it all the time. It's one of my main snares I gig with. Even my Benny Greb snare was more expensive than the BIN price the seller did have.
