This is the first and only one i have ever seen and i`m not saying there might be one or two others out there in the same NOS in box condition, but very highly unlikely.I don`t know the history of this beauty but it`s most likely a "one of a kind"! If ya` got the doe then make it show...if ya snooze ya`lose on this one "BIG TIME"! Manny,i hope your bid holds up,would be great to see you get it.Cheering for you on this one.

Wayne,

Thanks for the kind words! I guess now its up to ebay games. Yes I could have jumped on it but I did just spend $1k on snares and a lot more on kits. I could easily have let go a few drums and been ok but yeah I guess the ship has sailed and now its ebay games time.

I will try to be disciplined in this though; if the bidding gets beyond what I think is ok to pay for a single drum then I have no worries letting this go go and getting a cherry complete Rogers kit.

Yes sure this is a one of a kind drum but I know people with much deeper pockets than me will jump on it. Oh well I can kick myself later :) My wife loves to remind me (and oh how right she is) "there will always be another drum out there that will come along and catch your eye..." Clapping Happy2

The seller writes a very brief description for a one-of-a-kind NOS snare, but then again, what more is there to say? It's factory fresh in the box; really no need to go into a description of its condition. I would have liked to hear who owned this, where it's been hiding since 1966, and if there are any more NOS gems from this source (maybe it's from stored stock of an old, out-of-business music shop). Hope someone here gets it and finds out its history.

Should bring around $750, imho.

Imagine if it were a Dynasonic....

Dynasonic in that condition....I am guessing Steve Maxwell would buy it. Cherry wood dynasonics are the drums I would likely sit on my shelf and just look at.

Then again I am crazy because big time Sonor endorsers never take out their top shelf stuff like I do. We shall see where it lands. I am guessing closer to $1200.

Nope, if it were a NOS WMP Dyna, I would have the winning bid, because Steve Maxwell is not foolish enough to spend the ridiculous, unrealistic amount of money I'd be willing to shell out for my personal "holy-grail" drum. ;)

Mike,

I think at a certain point (perhaps most of the time) its an emotional purchase. To that end price does not matter. Drums are actually very affordable compared to other instruments. If I win this guy it will be very tempting to play it. More than likely I will make a nice glass case and display it!

Wow that is a beauty!!! Good luck. I think it will top 1K. They don't, and never will make em like that again. That's one of the many reasons I adore the Rogers sets I am lucky enough to own.

I have a Powertone in the exact same condition, in original box, never played. No key though...Champagne Sparkle. I think its worth hanging onto for a while.
